WHO IS TAPI ?
TAPI stands for Thai Association of Particle Institute that aims to promote and disseminate knowledge of powder, particle, nanoparticle, aerosol, particulate matter (PM) science and technology, and industrial applications for the benefit of people in Thailand. We provide services such as seminars, training, consultation, and analysis to related industries.
Pneumatic Conveying Systems Design, Sizing, Scale-Up with Experimental Demonstration
A Two-Days Seminar that emphasizes on Design of the Pneumatic Conveying System, including system consideration, the selection of components, conveying characteristics, pipeline design & scaling parameters, and reviewing of case studies.
This course is co-organized by TAPI (Thai Association for Particle Institute) in collaboration with Chemengedu (www.chemengedu.com) & CEPT (Center of Excellence in Particle and Materials Processing Technology, Chem. Eng. Dept., Chulalongkorn Universities)
SOLID MIXING AND DRYING TECHNOLOGIES
A One-Day Course on Selection and Process Design of Solid Mixing and Drying Technologies. The first half of the day -- the mixing technologies -- will help the participants to understand Several Mixing Mechanisms of Solid Particles and ensure that they can select correctly. It will also guide them to typical process design for various industries. The second half of the day will focus on the drying technologies including principle of drying operation, selection of the drying equipment, and sizing method for drying solid particles.
Sponsored entirely by PMS (Pharmaceuticals and Medical Supply Co., Ltd.), this course is co-organized by TAPI (Thai Association for Particle Institute) in collaboration with Chemengedu (www.chemengedu.com) & CEPT (Center of Excellence in Particle and Materials Processing Technology, Chem. Eng. Dept., Chulalongkorn Univ.).
MESSAGE FROM TAPI PRESIDENT
TAPI was originally set up as an not-for-profit association to complement and synergize with the academically oriented TPTC (Thai Powder Technology Center) in Chulalongkorn University. After the financial and technical support from Japan expired, TPTC was merged with CEPT (Center of Excellence in Particle and Materials Processing Technology).
Gradually, the planned cooperation with CEPT receded while Dr. Wiwut Tanthapanichakoon moved away to NANOTEC, SCG Chemicals, Tokyo Institute of Technology, and again SCG Chemicals. In 2022 there was serious discussions among the key members of TAPI whether it should be discontinued or not. Now that Dr. Wiwut will soon retire from his role as SCGC technology advisor, he will have much more time to contribute to TAPI.
Thanks to the keen interest and strong support expressed by 2 key new members (Mr. Sathit A. of PMS and Mr. Wiroon T. of Global R&D Co. Ltd.), a crucial decision was reached to revitalize TAPI instead. Time will tell whether this challenging endeavor will bear long-term fruit or not.
Prof. Emeritus Wiwut Tanthapanichakoon
